Course Description
The Level 1 Mentorship days are meant for the Level 1 Rec Avalanche graduate who wants to practice their skills within the space of a professional avalanche educator and ski guide. Participants get to practice route planning and in-terrain descision making while further exploring the backcountry of Cooke City. Pre-course work: The instructor will send over a general area for ski tours and participants are expected to choose routes arrcondingly to weather and avalanche reports. Snowmobile transport might be part of terrain access and is included. Day 1: 8 am the group meets in Cooke City, discusses different route options and heads into the field. Hand-pits and surface pits might be part of snow assessment. 3 pm debrief and plan for the next day Day 2: 8 am meet-up and ski-touring in Cooke City 3 pm debrief and end of Mentorship days This course is based out of Cooke City, Montana. Cooke City benefits from high snow fall, excellent skiing, and quality educational venues right out of town. Lodging is not provided on this course. Minimum sign-up is 3 people and participants wil be notified about low enrollment 10 days before the course.

Cancellation Policy
The 2.9% credit card processing fee is not refundable. In the event of a cancellation 31 days or more before your upcoming trip, Beartooth Mountain Guides refunds your entire deposit, apart from processing fees. 30-14 days in advance of your upcoming trip, Beartooth Mountain Guides refunds 50% of trip cost. Within 14 days, no refunds are accepted. Remaining costs are due one month prior to trip start date. Travel insurance, such as Travel Guard or World Nomads, is highly recommended to protect the cost of your trip in the event of a last minute cancellation.
