Course Description

Ice climbing is an amazing way of winter recreation in the northern Rocky Mountains. It doesn't only look spectacular but it is also an important skill for alpine climbing and winter mountaineering. Being able to climb ice opens a lot of high mountain routes. Based out of Cooke City, this clinic will go over movement, equipment and preparation for a day on ice. We will spend the day climbing water ice in the region. Participant to guide ratio is 4:1. Rental equipment (Tools, harness, crampons, helmets) is available and included in this course. Not included/ available are: Ice Climbing boots. These are stiff and clip-on crampon-compatible boots or alternatively ski boots. Cost is $275 + processing fees (3%). The minimum participant number is 3, BMG reserves the right to cancel the course up to 7 days before the course date if the course is not filled.

Cancellation Policy

The 2.9% credit card processing fee is not refundable. In the event of a cancellation 31 days or more before your upcoming trip, Beartooth Mountain Guides refunds your entire deposit, apart from processing fees. 30-14 days in advance of your upcoming trip, Beartooth Mountain Guides refunds 50% of trip cost. Within 14 days, no refunds are accepted. Remaining costs are due one month prior to trip start date. Travel insurance, such as Travel Guard or World Nomads, is highly recommended to protect the cost of your trip in the event of a last minute cancellation.
