Guided Ice Climbing
in Red Lodge and Beartooth mountains, Montana
A guided day of ice climbing is the perfect way to break into the sport or to experience it in a safe way for the first time. Ice climbing can be intimidating at first but with the right mentor on your side and the knowledge to work with experts will give you more room to focus on this new experience rather than being concered with its hazards.
How does a day on ice look like?

First we get a gauge of what your experience level is and what you are looking for!
Then we will find an objective (ice climbing route) and area that fits you and your group. At the day of we will go over the different types of gear that we need and fit them to you. After we caravan to the climbing location we will hike 15 min - 1 hour to our climb. Here we climb! We will go over safety precautions and basic phisycs of climbing on ice. Everyone is secured on ropes in "toptope" style while climbing.

I have already ice climbed before, can I climb a more challenging objective?
Yes, of course!
We can do a multi-pitch climb or a more difficult ice climb. The water ice falls in the Beartooth mountains are mostly remote and offer therefore a quiet ambiete. Rock Creek 2-pitch (WI III), Silver Falls 1-pitch (WI IV) or Spaghetti Falls 3-pitch (WI IV) are some examples for the climber with some ice climbing experience.
