Avalanche Education Scholarships by Red Lodge Events and Beartooth Mountain Guides.
Outdoor education is expensive but necessary in order to recreate safely in the mountains. Winter recreation in Montana entails various factors that can severely injure recreationists or lead to fatalities. Education and experience are key to recreating in the mountains safely.
Red Lodge Events gives this Scholarship to support a community member in their educational journey.
We aim to make the application process anonymous and a third party will remove personal information such as the names or workplaces of the applicants. Beartooth Mountain Guides will review the applications and select a recipient.
Red Lodge Events is providing a full-tuition Avalanche Level 1 scholarship and a $300 stipend towards an Avalanche Level 1 or Level 2 Course with Beartooth Mountain Guides.
Who can apply?
Anyone who needs financial assistance and recreates in the mountains in winter (bc ski, xc ski, split-board, ice climbing) and lives in Montana, Wyoming or Idaho.

The application window is between Sep 15 - Oct 15. By the end of October, we will announce the recipients. You can select one of our offered Avalanche Courses for Winter 2023/24.
