Bear's Tooth

Climb the spectacular glacial horn in the backcountry of the Beartooth mountains. This 3-4 day objective inlcudes a approach day, camping on black canyon lake, summit day with 5.8 rock climbing and a descent day.

Difficulty: 

Beginner to intermediate 5.8 climbing ability, experience backpacking required

Fitness:

Ability to carry 50 lb pack for 3 days

Itenary

Day 1 takes us up the Lake Fork drainage and into the Black Canyon lake where we will set up camp.

Day 2 starts early with the goal of the Bear's Tooth. We might cross some snow and hop soe boulders to get to the start of the route, 5-10 pitches (depending on the route) will take us to the top. Grades vary between 5.5 and 5.8. We rappel some of the route and hike back to camp.

Day 3 we pack down camp and return to the Lake Frok drainage to hike back to the parking lot.
